An exciting opportunity has arisen to join my client’s Data Engineering team which is helping to shape the future of insurance pricing through cutting-edge predictive analytics. The team is recognised as a centre of excellence - providing an Oracle Analytics platform that improves decision making and performance. We are looking for 3 data engineers capable of migrating and supporting Exadata services both on premise and in the cloud.

The insurance industry is evolving in an age of rapid technological development, and as an organisation my client are investing in strengthening its technological capabilities. The successful candidate will join a team who is responsible for maintaining a large data processing platform.  Building on existing industry-leading data management techniques, unparalleled customer database, the team objective is to add-value through the integration of both new data sources (including Big Data) and the application the latest machine learning techniques.

Desirable Technical Skills
  • Degree/MSc in Computer Science or relevant Oracle experience
  • Strong Oracle Exadata DBA Experience
  • Oracle Cloud Service Experience
  • Oracle 12c
  • Oracle ASM/Linux platform/mirroring
  • Backups and restores
  • High Availability cluster configuration
  • Performance monitoring and improvement
  • Fault finding and resolution
  • System patching support
  • Upgrade planning
  • System availability reporting
  • Data object/user maintenance
  • Performance monitoring
What will you get for this role?
  • Salary of between £35,500 and £45,000
