Are you an experienced Infrastructure Project Manager who wants to work with an organisation that places technology at the heart of their business?

As an infrastructure project manager within the Networks & Workplace function (part of Global Infrastructure & Operations) you will be a dynamic individual who is confident taking on complex projects.  You will need to be self-motivated, resilient and thrive on being challenged as you ensure the delivery of strategic infrastructure projects critical to organisation success. You will be accountable for ensuring the successful execution of multiple projects of differing scales and complexities across differing technologies, locations and third-party partners.

The project manager holds the overall accountability for success over the full project lifecycle. The project manager designs, plans and implements complex projects, either standalone or as part of a larger programme, according to scope, targets and objectives set for time of delivery, budget and quality.

Key Accountabilities
  • Successful project delivery in line with the defined success factors and set goals
  • Effective and consistent project communications and reporting to business and IT stakeholders
  • Smooth change deployment and handover to operations, driving quality and compliance
  • Successful adoption of the solution, ensuring appropriate roll-out strategy and engagement
  • Contribution and ongoing improvement of the project management tools and methodology (as part of the project management community)
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Project delivery in line with the defined success factors and set goals
  • Lead in the delivery and governance of projects
  • Set, deploy and demonstrate effective governance controls around risk and issue management and escalation
  • Manage and track budget, providing an ongoing challenge around scope and associated business case, and submit changes to the budget authorisation process as required
  • Identify and source the required resources, either external or internal, as well as monitor and manage their performance throughout the project, providing corrective supervision if necessary
  • Project communications and reporting to business and IT stakeholders
  • Establish clear communication mechanisms to promote project vision, direction, priorities as well as manage diverse stakeholders’ expectations incl. sponsor, business representatives, suppliers
  • Change deployment and handover to operations
  • Plan, coordinate and oversee all handover activities, actively preparing and training operational teams to take on the new solution / service
  • Engage with service and release management to provision the necessary environments and processes to support new solution / service

Skills & Experience required
  • Solid PM experience within infrastructure
  • Track record Project Management and 3rd Party partner management experience managing multi-vendor teams across a number of project activities
  • Significant budget responsibility >£1m
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing experience
  • Strong leadership skills and be confident working with virtual teams to achieve delivery milestones and outcomes
  • IT Service / infrastructure technology experience
  • Professional level of accreditation or certification in Project or Programme Management e.g. APM, PRINCE 2, Agile
  • A knowledge of Active Directory and some understanding of Identity management would be advantageous as the first assignment is in this space
