The experience we need.
-Experience as an Event Director or Senior Event Manager, leading the successful delivery large conferences and exhibitions (2000+ delegates, 100+ sponsors/exhibitors, +£1m budget)
-Able to manage large complex income generating budgets, specifically for cost-neutral events
-Provides timely management account reporting
-Remains calm under pressure, can manage many tasks simultaneously and maintain excellent attention to detail while working to strict deadlines
-Has great leadership skills and team management experience
-Will lead discussions, external meetings and conference calls
-Has several years’ events experience (both private and public sector)
The role ( Event Director )
-Working with leading Government clients at a strategic level to develop and deliver event formats, campaign messages, KPIs and objectives
-Leading and managing project teams on the planning delivery of events and projects, particularly large conferences and exhibitions – from conception to completion
-Creating and managing budgets (up to £1.5m and cost neutral), providing updates to the client and reporting to the leadership team for P&L, forecasting etc.
-Regularly presenting to, and providing reports for, large groups of senior external stakeholders
-Contract negotiation with, and management of, 3rd party suppliers
-Client relationships – building, maintaining and developing strong relationships, and managing expectations with core client contacts and the wider client stakeholders
-Developing project timeline and ensure milestones are met by the team
-Creating management plans and technical run sheets for use on-site, including resource planning
-On-site event delivery (UK) and sometimes working weekends and evening as required.
-Post event evaluation – analysing data and collating reports
-Line management responsibility for Event Manager(s) / Executive(s) and wider team – including holiday sign off, mentoring, monthly catch ups, reviews and escalations
-Contributing to new business tenders and pitches
