An inspirational not-for-profit organisation is looking for a Communications Executive who is a life science graduate.  You'll have a passion for communicating science and preferably around a year of commercial experience.  You will work to raise the profile of the organisation and the fantastic work it does, as well as highlighting news to the scientific community.

This is a phenomenal opportunity for the right person to progress their career in scientific communications with an organisation that contributes to science globally.

The experience we need.

  • A life science degree is essential
  • 1+ year of commercial experience, preferably but not essentially working in a communications role within a science focused organisation
  • Outstanding written English with proven editing experience
  • Experience of commercial digital marketing and comms, such as updating social media, websites, blogging and email campaigns would be advantageous.

The role.

The successful Communications Executive will promote scientific news and the fantastic work of the organisation through digital content and communications to the scientific community.  This is not a public engagement role, rather scientific content that is tailored to scientific professionals.

As the successful Communications Executive, you'll be confident and outgoing to establish relationships with a range of stakeholders, including senior scientists.  You will also represent the organisation at scientific conferences nationally and internationally (up to two abroad per year).  Your manager will help with guidance and personal development but won't micro manage you, so you will need to have the confidence and commercial office experience to work autonomously.

The company.

This global not-for-profit organisation works within the science sector and has a genuine impact on society.  As the Communications Executive, you'll be an integral part of an award winning marketing and comms team.

What you’ll get in return.

The successful Communications Executive will receive a salary of £25k, as well as a fantastic package including comprehensive flexi-time.
