My client is on a mission to save the world's oceans. Brilliant!!

To help them achieve this they require a Digital Lead / Digital PM on a fixed term 12 month contract. This role is full remote / home working.

Overall purpose and objectives

  • To lead, develop and maintain the digital presence and develop and deliver a long-term organisational digital strategy.
  • Budgets may vary between £40k to £400k dependent on funding cycles and applications.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead on the development and delivery of an organisational digital strategy, creating a clear vision for future digital outputs
  • Lead on the project management and delivery of core digital projects
  • Developing the website as a storytelling platform, maximising supporter experience and developing my client's reputation as a citizen science leader
  • Ongoing management of all digital communications and engagement activities
  • Manage the Digital team and support staff, including recruitment, management, personal and professional development, budgetary control and contract procurement.

Main duties

  • Develop the digital strategy across all channels and audiences
  • Embed the digital strategy across the organisation, engaging staff at all levels
  • Develop clear digital KPIs to track progress and delivery targets
  • Lead on the project management and delivery of core digital projects
  • Project manage all major digital projects, ensuring due-diligence and effective communication at all stages.
  • Ensure all new digital projects align with the digital strategy, integrate with existing systems such as the CRM and help improve a complete digital presence
  • Identify and manage contractors and suppliers where necessary, ensuring projects run to time and budget.
  • Ensure all relevant areas of the sites are fully integrated with a new CRM.
  • Ensure all content is up-to-date and relevant, working with colleagues to plan and implement regular updates.

Essential Experience

  • Significant experience of designing and delivering digital strategies
  • Significant experience of digital project management, leading the delivery of websites and other products, on time and within budget
  • Experience in managing complex websites with a range of specific user needs
  • Expertise in website CMS
  • Experience in analysing business needs and of requirement capture and project scoping
  • Proven experience of utilising audience insight for user experience
  • Excellent skills in digital storytelling: creating engaging and inspiring content
  • Excellent verbal and spoken communication skills including the ability to write compelling copy
  • Creative, with a good eye for stories and ideas that engage and inspire
  • Experience in using Matomo, Google Analytics or other analytic tools effectively to drive strategic changes

Skills and abilities

Essential

  • Strong people manager, with excellent diplomacy skills; able to negotiate resource requirements, manage internal stakeholder expectations and external suppliers
  • Understanding of software development cycles and how to manage software testing
  • Strong understanding of data management
  • Full understating of GDPR and PECR; and practical experience of ensuring compliance
  • Understanding of online data security
  • Understanding of digital asset management
  • Proven knowledge of CMS systems and experience of integrating websites and CRMs
  • Sound experience of bulk email providers ideally TTmail and/or mailchimp
  • Proven experience of SEO
  • Knowledge of Symfony doctrine
  • Good knowledge of Google Ad words and PPC
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office 365
  • Ability to learn and use different software
